I wear a mask, a mask you see,
Hides the real me
A mask for the world to see
So only I know my true identity
Behind the mask is so much pain
Attempted healing is done in vain
Happiness, is seen by most
But sadness, is what I host
Smiles faked so well
While tears start to swell
You start to notice my charade
And my fake smile begins to fade
Behind my mask, you try to peek
My identity, is what you seek
Against it, I’d advise
For there’s a reason to my disguise
Behind the mask, you see
Truly is, the real me
And once seen, you will be changed,
Your entire perspective rearranged
So let my mask be!
For the mask you see,
Hides the painful reality
The mask hides my tears,
Hides my fears
It is my comfort and joy
Not to be used as a cheap toy
So let me wear my mask,
For this, is all I ask
